PRACTICES
JUNE 2020
We will be allowed to hold six activities during the month of June. We will also be required to do things a bit differently than we have previously. We still cannot meet as a whole team because of our wonderfully large number of teammates being 89 (Go Team!).
We will, however, be having our bike check night, skills practices, and a few other events in small groups. Look for more details in TeamSnap. These will give everyone a bit more specialized attention at these events.
Our plan as of now is to divide the team according to families rather than skill level for these activities. Please be flexible, adaptable and mindful as we move forward with this season. We understand that not all families may choose to participate in early activities.
If your family is not comfortable meeting in groups, please message Jane Hicken via TeamSnap so we can try to make other arrangements. Communication will be key this season.
Please carefully review the following information regarding HEALTH and EQUIPMENT.
HEALTH PRECAUTIONS
In an effort to mitigate and lower the risk of exposure to, and infection from, COVID-19, coaches will conduct a symptom screening for all coaches and athletes participating at team and league events.
Student & Coach Symptom Checklist
❏ Fever
❏ Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
❏ Cough
❏ Chills
❏ Muscle Pain
❏ Sore Throat
❏ New loss of taste or smell
❏ Nausea
❏ Vomiting
❏ Diarrhea
❏ Unexplainable Rash
If a student or coach is experiencing any of these symptoms, we ask that they not participate at in-person activities until they are feeling better or have tested negative for COVID-19.
Coaches and students should not participate for at least 14 days if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to an individual that has a confirmed case of COVID-19.
Coaches and students should notify the league if they discover they have COVID-19 after participating in an event.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
The following listed equipment is required at each practice / team ride. If you do not have these items with you, you will not be allowed to practice with the team and will be sent home. You might want to look into acquiring a small pack that can hold all of the required items. Until further notice, we are not able to share any gear or supples with each other.
All riders (students and coaches) must come prepared with:
• Full water bottle and food for personal consumption
• Mask, bandana, or buff
• Hand Sanitizer
• Tube, tools, pump, CO2, etc.
• Extra clothing — jacket for cooler / inclement weather
In addition, coaches must come prepared with:
• Disposable gloves to: 1) perform first aid on a rider/coach; or 2) handle the student’s equipment or tools.
• First Aid pack
Again, if you do not have these items with you, you will not be allowed to practice with the team and will be sent home. We really do not want anyone to be sent home. Please get these items together. If you have any issues, let us know via a message through TeamSnap.
